Black Onyx Equestrian is located in Norway outside of Arendal. Our main focus is the breed Icelandic Horses, but we also have a few Peruvian Paso's to combine and make Aegidenberger Horses. Beside breeding Icelandics and Aegidenberger we have just begun buying up Irish Draughts to breed and compete with. And we breed Friesian Horses too, and maybe other breeds in the future! Who knows, haha.

A long time ago Hera Cole's mother Afrodite started up the stable and has bred the Icelandic Horses for over 10 years. Then Hera took over, with her old boyfriend Liam Walker, when Afrodite got too old to take care of the place almost (except from two staff members) alone anymore. Even after Hera and Liam split he contineud to help her with the stable as they have a daughter together and has to see each other for many years forward. Hopefully little Calypso will want to take over the stable, when Hera gets too old.

The breeding is focused on creating friendly partners who are happy to work for competing and whatever you would like to use them for. But we want horses with fire and good gaits too, even though the temper is on the top of the list. The Icelandics are bred for gaited competitions and casual riding. The Irish Draughts are bred for Show Jumping, even though some can be found in Eventing competitions too.
